TO CELEBRATE CATHOLIC SCHOOL RAFFLE WINNERS ON MARCH 5TH

ST. PAUL, MN — With the Catholic Schools Raffle at the half-way mark, Catholic United Financial is excited to announce that Super Bowl Champion and former Minnesota Vikings center Matt Birk will be joining us as the master of ceremonies at our Prize Drawing Ceremony on March 5th.

“The support Catholic United Financial continues to provide for Catholic education and students throughout the tri-state region is phenomenal on many levels,” Birk said on the partnership. “With the assistance of this outstanding organization, our Catholic faith is strengthened and propagated in our homes, church communities, and population at large. It is both an honor and a privilege to play a small role in this awesome celebration of Catholic Schools!”

Now in its tenth year, the Catholic Schools Raffle has raised more than $7.3 million for Catholic schools in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Every dollar of every ticket sold stays with the schools. During this year’s ceremony, Matt Birk will help us draw the winner of a 2019 Chevy TRAX SUV (or $20,000 cash), as well as other prizes totaling $40,000 in value!

Catholic United has challenged our 90 participating Raffle schools to reach over $1 million in ticket sales from Jan. 11th to Feb 24th. Watch the live stream of our event on March 5th starting at 11 am to find out if our schools achieved this seven-figure goal. Also, we will announce the three top performing schools who will receive additional grants of $3,000 each. The ceremony broadcast can be viewed at www.catholicunitedfinancial.org/raffle.

A native of St. Paul, Birk is best known in Minnesota for the decade he spent in a purple Minnesota Vikings uniform (1998-2008), earning several awards and six Pro Bowl appearances. In 2009, Birk signed with the Baltimore Ravens, a career move which culminated in a 2012 Super Bowl championship. Birk retired from professional football in 2013.

Birk is now a professional speaker, consultant and CEO of Matt Birk and Company. He speaks to audiences across the United States about leadership, teamwork, inspiration, and potential in order to motivate and empower groups of people to impact the world in a positive way.

Birk also promotes youth sports through 4HG, a movement to create a healthy sports culture in Catholic schools (www.4hg.co), of which Catholic United Financial is a sponsor. A practicing Catholic, Birk resides in Mendota Heights, MN with his wife and eight children.
