Benefit members are practicing Catholics, 16 years of age or more, and are active policy holders with Catholic United Financial.
Benefit Members have voting privileges in Catholic United Financial Councils and Volunteer Teams and are eligible to hold any office within Catholic United, its Local Councils and Volunteer Teams, and serve on any committee and be a delegate to the Triennial Conference.
Limited members are active policy holders that don’t qualify as a Benefit Member, or are a person who is not a practicing Catholic and meets the exception criteria below:
• The non-Catholic spouse of a Benefit Member
• A beneficiary of a Beneficiary Contract who elects to take a supplemental contract
• The non-Catholic child or grandchild of a Benefit Member, provided the applicant is a Benefit Member of Catholic United Financial
• Any non-Catholic employee of Catholic United, or their spouse of children
• Non-Catholic benefit contract owners whose contracts are acquired by virtue of a merger or acquisition.
Limited Members are not eligible to hold any office and do not have voting privileges in Catholic United, its Local Councils and Volunteer Teams. Limited Members are not eligible to serve on any committee or be a delegate to the Triennial Conference, but have all other rights and privileges of benefit members of Catholic United Financial.
Associate members are practicing Catholics, 16 years of age or more, and are not active policy holders with Catholic United Financial but maintain a product or service from an affiliate of Catholic United Financial.
Associate Members have voting privileges in Catholic United Financial Councils and Volunteer Teams and are eligible to hold any office within Catholic United, except for the Catholic United Board of Directors and its President and Vice President. Associate Members may serve as leaders on Local Councils and Volunteer Teams, and serve on any committee and be a delegate to the Triennial Conference. Associate Members are eligible to benefit from the Member Assistance Grant and the Precious Life Benefit Program.

The purpose of the LLC is to be an entity which is authorized to broker insurance products not offered directly by the Association (within the purview of MN State. 64B.16 – a statute which describes permissible activities of a fraternal association), and sold by Catholic United Financial Sales Representatives to members of the Association.
