Some jurisdictions have expanded the common definition of PII to include things like specific geolocation data, unique device identifiers, and other information that we may collect automatically, so you should review this Privacy Policy as a whole for a better understanding of our data collection, use, and sharing practices.
At times, we may add forms or other options for you to communicate with us and provide us information about yourself. Unless otherwise indicated, the information we request is optional, but we may offer functionality on our Site that will not work properly without you providing the requested information, or you may not be able to apply for or participate in certain opportunities through the website or obtain information we offer, such as requesting more information about our organization, finding out information about or applying for opportunities including for employment, volunteering, scholarships, grants, events, or our products and services.
Typically our contact us forms will request various forms of personal information. These forms may also have space into which you can type a message, but please do not include sensitive information about yourself or others, including without limitation personal health information, financial information, social security numbers, or other similar information unless specifically requested by the form.
The information you provide in our various forms is generally at least used for the purposes obvious or otherwise indicated by the context of the forms. For example, filling out a form to receive a newsletter may result in you receiving newsletters from us; signing up to be a financial donor or participation in our fundraising events may add you to our donor lists and may result in communications related to your donation, donation opportunities, public acknowledgment of your donation depending on your selected preferences for recognition, fundraising events, donation related requests, and other donor related activities and opportunities; etc. Similarly, at various points in the Site we provide our contact information such as our e-mail addresses for various purposes, and providing us information about you or others using that contact information may result uses by us at least related to those purposes. If you provide information about a third party you must have permission from that person to share any personal information that you provide to us.
In addition, the information you provide to us is used to provide member services and products, advertise, and communicate information about our organization, membership, our products, and our services, and to apply for membership or our products and services, to allow you to find out information about and apply for employment, to sign up for or obtain information about volunteering, to sign up for or obtain information about events, to obtain information about and apply for grants and scholarships, and to find out information about donations and to make donations.
If you provide information to volunteer for or with us or to apply for employment, we may use that information to run background checks to comply with the law or otherwise ensure you are suitable for the volunteer or employment position you are seeking. When you submit an inquiry about a job through the Site, we may ask for various pieces of PII. We may use the information you provide to match your experience and preferences with the job openings we have, and someone from or on behalf of our organization may contact you about a possible employment opportunity. Please note that by submitting your information regarding employment opportunities with our organization, you authorize us to transmit and store your information in our recruitment database.
In particular, as to our products and services, we may collect personal information about you in order to provide, administer and service those products and services, including insurance and annuities. The type of information we collect about you depends on the products, services or benefits you request and may include the following, some or all of which may be collected through or combined with information you provide through the Site:
We may use your PII and information that you send to us for activities to monitor and maintain the quality of our products and services and the Site, to reach out to you for more information about any concerns that you express about our products and services, employment, volunteering, events, donations, scholarships, and grants and to confirm eligibility for membership in the Catholic United Financial Credit Union.
If we receive similar questions or requests to yours from other users, we may post the most frequently asked questions on our Site under a “FAQ” or similar section. The question we post may be similar to, or the same as, the question you submitted, but we will not identify you (or anyone else) as the questioner.
